Are there passages in the gospels (and revelation) indicating literalness in christ's return (again) ?

Yes, at least two are tormenting. The angels stood and said, "He will return as he left." And at the end of revelation, and of the whole bible, christ declares, "Behold, I come swiftly !" and john says even so, come. Yet I say, we shall not see him until he comes in his kingdom. For some, today they are with him. For others they will wait.
